Good news for the youth, this sector will give jobs to more than 10 lakh people

As soon as the festive atmosphere starts in the hospitality sector, there has been a hiring spree. If experts are to be believed, a lot of hiring can be seen in this sector in the coming days.

The weekend of 15th August has proved to be a great one for the hospitality sector. The expectations of this sector have increased a lot and it is expected to be even better. For this, the hospitality sector has also started hiring. In fact, the hospitality sector is constantly facing the shortage of workforce. Now when it seems that there is a possibility of boom in this sector in the coming days. Preparations have started to increase the work force and have started filling many posts in hotels and restaurants. There is a reason for this too. The World Cup is going to start in the country in the coming days. Along with this, many other events will also happen. According to experts, more than one lakh people can get jobs in the next 9 months.

Sector boom

Rajan Bahadur, CEO of the Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council, promoted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), said that the council is now doing an all India basis skill gain analysis. He further said that there was talk of green shots of recovery after the third wave of Kovid, but the kind of recovery that should have happened could not happen. Now when the sector is growing, the need for recruitment is being seen. The study will give us the correct information about the ground requirements in the states.

Increase in season bookings

Nikhil Sharma, Market Managing Director – Eurasia, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, said that with the increase in bookings for the festive season, the chain has also been working to expand its team. However, there is a current lack of grassroots within the sector, he added. He said that there is no uniform shortage in mid and upper level workforce in hotels. This can differentiate our staffing status from others.

One million jobs can be found

Pranav Roongta, co-founder and director of Naksha restaurants and Mumbai chapter head of the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI), said the restaurant industry needs at least one million workforce in the next three quarters. At present, most of the hospitality centers are providing training for hotels. We are short of workforce and we are heavily dependent on migrant workers. The industry is growing and more restaurants will be opening in the next few months. We need staff for kitchen, management and post.

Suchita Dutta, executive director of the Indian Staffing Federation, said the sector is expecting at least 10-15 per cent hiring growth in the festive and holiday season as compared to last year. He said that in view of the promising business around the long weekend of August 15, most of the companies have already started recruitment.
