Through this, SIMs will be given on the basis of registration of companies. If a company wants to buy SIM in bulk, then in that too it will have to do individual KYC.

According to the new guidelines of the government, there is a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh for selling SIM cards without police verification. According to Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, there are about 10 lakh SIM card dealers in the country who will have to undergo police verification. Apart from this, KYC of the business will also have to be done.

Vaishnav said that nowadays a lot of negligence of the dealers selling SIMs has come to the fore. Their main focus is only on selling SIMs. To overcome this, biometric and police verification of the dealers is being made necessary. Registration of all POS dealers will also be mandatory. If any dealer is seen to be negligent in this matter, then his responsibility can be fixed. The Telecom Minister said that after the launch of the Sanchar Saathi portal, he has deactivated about 52 lakh fake connections. 67 thousand dealers have been blacklisted. Along with this, there are many of 300 FIRs registered.

Sim misuse

People buy sims in bulk but there is 20 percent misuse in it. This leads to cyber fraud. After a detailed study, it has been decided that the system of bulk purchase will be discontinued. The concept of business connection will come in its place. In this, an arrangement will be made for any business group, corporate or event. In this, SIMs will be given on the basis of registration.
