IND vs IRE: Jasprit Bumrah, returning after 11 months, will make a great record in the first T20I, this will happen for the first time in history

Jasprit Bumrah will make a special record in the first match of the three T20 International series to be held in Dublin on Friday (August 18) against Ireland. Hardik Pandya and vice-captain Suryakumar Yadav, who captained the team against the West Indies, have been rested in this series. Therefore, the captaincy has been handed over to Bumrah on the tour of Ireland, who will return to international cricket after 11 months. 

Bumrah will become the first bowler to captain the Indian team in T20 International. So far ten players have captained the Indian team in this format, out of which 9 were batsmen and Pandya was the only all-rounder.

Virender Sehwag was the first captain of India in T20 International. After this, MS Dhoni led the team from 2007 T20 World Cup to 2016. Apart from this, Suresh Raina, Ajinkya Rahane captained in some matches. After this Virat Kohli became the regular captain and in his absence Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan took charge of the team. KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant also captained the team. 

Bumrah will become the 11th captain of India in T20 International. He has not led the team in limited overs cricket till now. In 2022, Bumrah became the second fast bowler after Kapil Dev to captain the Indian team in Test cricket.  

Rituraj Gaikwad is the vice-captain of the team against Ireland. He has been elected captain of the Indian team in the Asian Games.
