To control the rising prices of wheat, the government has made a big plan. It will sell 50 lakh metric tonnes of wheat in the open market.
With the onset of monsoon, inflation has increased in the country. From vegetables to pulses and rice have also become expensive. But the price of wheat is making the general public cry the most. Its price has reached the highest level in the last 6 months. In such a situation, the government has removed 10 percent import duty on wheat to curb the rising prices of wheat. Despite this, the prices are not taking the name of reduction. Due to the cost of wheat, there has been a bumper increase in the prices of flour. In many cities, the price of one kg of flour has crossed Rs 60.
At present, flour is being sold most expensive in Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Here the cost of one kg of flour is Rs.67. Due to this, the budget of the kitchen of the general public has deteriorated. The special thing is that there are different prices of flour at different places in Andaman and Nicobar. Flour is cheaper in Car Nicobar than in Port Blair. Here the cost of one kilo of flour is Rs.66. Similarly, cheaper flour than Car Nicobar is being sold in Mayabunder city. Here people have to spend Rs 65 to buy one kilo of flour. However, at present the price of one kg of flour in Delhi is Rs 30 to 35. In such a situation, we can say that compared to Delhi, flour there is almost twice as expensive.
It is located in the Indian Ocean
Andaman and Nicobar Islands is a union territory. The government of India runs here. It is situated in the Indian Ocean. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are made up of about 572 small and big islands. But only a few islands are inhabited by people. Port Blair is the capital of this archipelago. According to the 2011 census, the total population here is 379,944. Out of which 202,330 are male and 177614 are female. Talking about the sex ratio, there are 878 females per 1,000 males.
Also considering importing wheat from Russia
Actually, wheat is such a food item from which many dishes are made. When its price increases, along with snacks, the prices of grocery items also increase. In such a situation, inflation becomes uncontrolled in no time. This is the reason why the rising price of wheat is putting the central government under the most tension. However, the central government is also considering importing wheat from Russia to reduce inflation.
