The digital 'power' of self-reliant India is about to get a booster dose. Along with this, this news is also for those 120 crore people out of 140 crores of India, who use internet. This news is related to India's indigenous operating system, whose 'illusive' Chakravyuh will be impossible to break for any cyber hackers along with China and Pakistan.
Similar indigenous operating system is being installed in the Ministry of Defence. Along with this, your Internet web browser may change very soon and it is possible that you too will soon use an indigenous web browser instead of a web browser like Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
The Illusive Chakravyuh of India
There are many such hackers sitting in the enemy countries of India, who try unsuccessfully to steal sensitive and confidential information by cyber breaching the security of the Defense Ministry. Now there is another bad news for them. According to sources, the operating system is being changed in all the computers of the Defense Ministry. There is news that an indigenous operating system, named Maya, is being installed by removing Microsoft's OS from the computer.
If sources are to be believed, now this operating system named Maya will be installed in all the computers of the Defense Ministry. Apart from this, 'Chakravyuh' protection software will also be installed to prevent hacking, cyber attacks. At present, before August 15, all such computers of the Ministry of Defense are connected to the Internet. Work is being done to change the operating system in them and soon the rest of the computers will also be upgraded with the new indigenous operating system Maya.
What is Maya Operating System?
This OS has been developed by the Ministry of Defence. Teams of experts from several government agencies including DRDO, C-DAC and National Informatics Center ie NIC have worked on its development. In the year 2021, the development of this indigenous operating system Maya started and it took about 6 months to build it. It has been developed on the open-source Ubuntu platform. But how much was it needed and now with the advent of Maya operating system, how impregnable the cyber security of the Ministry of Defense will become.
All of you must be using a web browser to search or view something on the Internet. If someone has Google Chrome in his mobile or laptop, then someone will be searching on Mozilla Firefox web browser, but the good news for all of you is that now very soon you will be able to use self-reliant India's indigenous internet web browser. That is, like Google and Microsoft, now we will also have our own internet web browser.
India's 'Swadeshi' Internet web browser to be launched soon
The central government has started preparations for this and if everything goes according to plan, India's 'indigenous' internet web browser will be launched in the market soon. For this, the Indian startup and software team has been invited by the Ministry of Electronics and IT and has announced to help in designing and making the internet web browser, whose plan will be the best. The government will provide funding of Rs 3 crore 40 lakh to make it an indigenous web browser.
After this the security certificate will be given to the web browser and after that it will be able to access your mobile, laptop or tablet. It is believed that after this whole process, the indigenous web browser can be launched by the end of the year 2024.
Why was it needed?
But there will also be a question in your mind that when there are web browsers like Google, Microsoft Edge and Fire Fox then why it is needed. There is a very serious reason for this, which is related to your security. Actually, all Internet web browsers have root stores, which are also called trust stores. Trust Store has a list of security certification agencies that tell whether the system and application are safe for you or not.
It is a matter of concern that not a single Indian agency is included in the system of root store i.e. security check of existing web browsers. All foreign companies are present. That's why India is now making its own internet web browser to challenge this power and thinking. With its creation, the dependence on foreign web browsers will end, where we have no control over the security.
What percentage of users of which web browser?
Now we also tell you which web browser is used the most in India and how big a challenge it will be for India to end this power.
- Google Chrome web browser has the highest number of users in India. More than 90 percent of people in India use Google Chrome.
- After this, the second highest number of users are from Mozilla Firefox. On which 3.64% people work.
- After this, 3.48 percent of Indians use the Microsoft Edge web browser.
- Apart from this, Apple Safari which is considered the most secure web browser. Only 1 percent of Indians use it.
Who created the first web browser?
It was the year 1991, when Tin Burner Lee created the first web browser. The name of the first web browser was the World Wide Web, which is the present form of the Internet. Although later its name was changed to Nexus, but now India will also have its own indigenous and first web browser very soon.
