According to official data released on Monday, retail inflation rose to 7.44 per cent in July due to a rise in the prices of food and vegetables.

For the first time in the current financial year, retail inflation has crossed the tolerance level of 6 percent of the Reserve Bank of India. Inflation in June was 4.87 per cent while in July 2022 it was 6.71 per cent.
