Kendra Para district: Soon after the completion of the Chandrayaan 3 mission, many children born in Kendrapara district of Odisha have been named 'Chandrayaan'.

Odisha News: Many children born in Odisha's Kendrapara district soon after India's Moon mission set foot on the lunar surface have been named 'Chandrayaan'. At least four children born at Kendrapara District Hospital on Wednesday (August 23) evening have been named Chandrayaan by their parents. There are three boys and one girl among them.

Pravat Malik, the father of one of these four children, said that this is double happiness for him. Our child was born minutes after Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed on the surface of the Moon. We have decided to name the child after this lunar mission. At the local level, there has been a tradition of naming a child after worship on the 21st day after its birth.

Ranu gave birth to a son

Malik's wife Ranu, a resident of Aripada village, has given birth to a son. Ranu said that the elders of the house would be suggested to name the child after Chandrayaan. He said that the name of the child could also be 'Chandra' or 'Luna' as Chandrayaan means vehicle for the moon. The child's mother said, "Chandrayaan, however, is the name of a new genre. We will decide about this in the Puja on the 21st day.
