Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has made a big announcement. Relations between the two countries have been improving since Prachanda's visit to India. Now Prachanda has assured his friend and neighbor India to supply electricity in large quantities for the next 10 years. Prachanda said on Friday that his government wanted to increase the power exported to neighboring India from 450 MW to 10,000 MW in the next 10 years. Addressing the 38th Annual Function of Nepal Electricity Authority here, Prachanda said that a preliminary bilateral agreement has also been signed between the two countries in this direction. He said, “Nepal is currently exporting about 450 MW of power to India but we intend to take it up to 10,000 MW in the next 10 years.
China must have got electrocuted by this announcement of PM Prachanda. China never wants India and Nepal to have good relations. That is why he tries to play an important role in forming and spoiling the government in Nepal. China is a supporter of Maoists. Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was a staunch supporter of China. Therefore, to please China, he even spoiled his relations with India. They started claiming the Indian territories as their own. China was also supporting Nepal from the backdoor. Due to this, the relations between India and Nepal started deteriorating. China was baking its political breads. China keeps trying to trick PM Prachanda from time to time. But ever since they started getting closer to India, China started feeling chilly.
Prachanda promised India
Nepal's PM Prachanda said that during his recent visit to India, he had discussed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi about clean energy. During this, it was also agreed to have access to the international market for trading of surplus power. He said that Nepal is undertaking comprehensive transformation in its hydropower sector and it is also engaged in creating a conducive environment to attract foreign investment. Now, during the next 10 years, Nepal will supply 10,000 MW of electricity to India. This will further strengthen the relations between the two countries. (Language)
