Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was born in Pakistan

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was born on 13 October 1948 in Faisalabad, Pakistan. His family also became a victim of partition, because before partition he lived in Jalandhar, India. Nusrat's father Fateh Ali Khan Sahab was the best Qawwal of his time, due to which there used to be a gathering of those who learned Qawwali in his house. You will be surprised to know that despite the atmosphere of Qawwali in the house, Nusrat saheb learned to play harmonium secretly from his father. 

Nusrat's father did not want to make him a Qawwal

Nusrat Ali Khan's real name was Parvez. A Sufi saint asked his father to change his name. Also, it was said that name it in such a way that there is light in the house. After this, Parvez's name was changed to Nusrat, which means the path to success. Please tell that Nusrat Saheb's father wanted to make him a doctor, because Nusrat, the youngest of his five children, was so shy by nature that his father felt that he would not be able to bear the burden of Qawwali's profession.

Secretly learned to play harmonium

Nusrat's father wanted to make him a doctor. Due to this, he was forbidden to learn music and even sit in the class. In such a situation, Nusrat used to secretly listen to his father's Qawwali and learned to play harmonium-tabla from his uncle. One day Fateh Ali Khan saw Nusrat playing tabla. After this, on the persuasion of the family members, he allowed Nusrat to become a Qawwal. However, he had to struggle a lot to learn all this, because Nusrat had to slap on the cheek for one wrong tone. Gradually Nusrat Saheb's hard work paid off and his voice became the heartbeat of everyone.

The last song was released three years after his death

Please tell that Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan had a problem with his kidney and liver. When he was going to Los Angeles for a kidney transplant, he was taken to a London hospital when his health deteriorated on the way. He died there on 16 August 1997 due to a heart attack. Let us tell you that the song 'Dulhe Ka Sehra Suhana Lagta Hai' from the film Dhadkan released during the year 2000 was the last song of Nusrat Saheb used in any Bollywood film, which was used three years after his death.
