PCOD and Mental health: For the past few years, more cases of PCOD disease are coming in women. This disease is also increasing rapidly in the age group of 25 to 35 years. Due to PCOD, small cysts are formed in the ovaries of women. Due to which many types of problems start happening.

Impaired lifestyle and bad eating habits are increasing the scope of diseases. Women are also falling prey to many diseases. Among these, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOD) is one such disease whose scope is increasing every year. PCOD is a dangerous disease occurring in women. In this disease, small cysts start forming in the ovaries of women. Due to this, the level of endorphin hormone starts deteriorating. Due to this, many types of problems start happening in the body. Due to PCOD, the weight of women increases. Hair starts coming on the face. Periods do not come on time. Infertility becomes a problem. Due to these bad changes happening in the body, women become victims of anxiety and depression. Due to which mental health starts deteriorating.

In many cases, women do not even know that all this is happening due to PCOD disease. Due to these bad changes happening in the body, she remains upset and becomes a victim of depression. There is a risk of cancer due to PCOD. According to the World Health Organisation, 10 per cent of women suffering from PCOD have been diagnosed with uterine cancer. These women had a problem of cyst in ovary for at least 10 years, but it was not treated.

Why is this disease increasing

Dr. Reema Dada, HOD Professor of Genetic Facility in AIIMS New Delhi, in a conversation , tells that this disease occurs due to change in hormones and impaired lifestyle in women. Now the cases of PCOD are also increasing in the age group of 25 to 35 years. Apart from lifestyle defects, the scope of PCOD is also increasing due to the increasing habits of alcohol and smoking in women. It is a matter of concern that the mental health of women suffering from this disease is also deteriorating. Such women are being treated through yoga. Which has given much better results. Yoga is helping a lot in controlling the problem of PCOD.

Do not ignore the symptoms

Dr. Reema says that women should not ignore the symptoms of PCOD disease. There is a need to pay attention to its early signs. If periods are not coming on time, then pay attention to this problem and consult a doctor.
