Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leaving on a tour of South Africa and Greece on 22 August. The Prime Minister will reach Johannesburg in South Africa on Tuesday evening itself. On the same day, he will participate in a special program organized on the eve of the BRICS summit. The next day i.e. on 23 August, the Prime Minister will participate in the BRICS conference. The role of the BRICS organization has become very important in the situation created after the Russia-Ukraine war. On August 24, Prime Minister Modi will also participate in the conference of BRICS and African countries. Apart from this, BRICS will participate in the session organized regarding the expansion of the organization.
Prime Minister Modi will visit Greece on 25 August. An Indian Prime Minister will visit Greece after 40 years. During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will pay tribute to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Greece. He will have bilateral talks with the Prime Minister of Greece. Prime Minister Modi will also address the people of the Indian community living in Greece. About ten thousand Indians live in Greece. Prime Minister Modi will leave for home on 25th August itself.

When Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present in South Africa, at the same time Chinese President Xi Jinping will also be there. Both the leaders will be face to face several times on one stage. On question about any possibility of bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said that South Africa has invited many other countries besides the member countries to participate in the BRICS summit.
