Rishi Sunak's wife can become an obstacle between India and Britain, how will this agreement be completed?

India and Britain have been negotiating a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) for a long time, but now British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's wife Akshata Murthy may become an obstacle in the middle of this agreement. Understand what is the whole matter?

India is hosting G-20 countries this year. In this summit, Rishi Sunak of Indian origin is going to visit India for the first time as the Prime Minister of Britain. It was expected that on this occasion, the long-discussed 'Free Trade Agreement' (FTA) could be finalized between the two countries, but now there is a possibility of obstruction. The reason for this could be Akshata Murthy, wife of Rishi Sunak and daughter of Infosys founder Narayana Murthy.

Rishi Sunak is married to Narayana Murthy's daughter Akshata Murthy and Akshata has a stake in Infosys which is equal to 500 million pounds (about Rs 5200 crore). This makes Akshata Murthy one of the richest women in Britain. His wealth can become an obstacle to the free trade agreement between India and Britain. In the Free Trade Agreement, many rules and tax systems are simplified between the two countries, so that trade with each other can be promoted.

Transparency and conflict of interest became a major reason

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is facing the problem of conflict of interest due to Akshata Murthy's stake in Infosys. According to a report, the Business and Trade Select Committee of the House of Commons of the British Parliament (like the Lok Sabha in India) had called Rishi Sunak to give information with transparency regarding his wife's financial interests.

The committee has membership from all parties and is chaired by Darren John of the Labor Party. The committee says that Infosys is going to benefit significantly from this agreement. The committee has also advised Sunak to recuse himself from the negotiations of this trade agreement.

'The Observer' says that the software giant Infosys will get easy access to the UK from this agreement. A possible change in visa rules will make access to the UK easier for thousands of its contract workers. The new visa rules will allow it to bring more workers to Britain for technologies such as IT and artificial intelligence.

I had to listen to this thing earlier also because of my wife.

Earlier, Rishi Sunak had to listen to the criticism in a report of the UK's Parliamentary Controller last week. The report said that Rishi Sunak has inadvertently failed to give proper details of his wife Akshata Murthy's stake in child minding firm 'Koru Kids'. This firm has benefited from the budget policy of the government. However, in this case, an apology was issued on behalf of Rishi Sunak and it got resolved.
