Shubman Gill likes to open with Rohit Sharma, told this big reason before Asia Cup

In the coming time, the Indian team has to play big tournaments like Asia Cup and 50 over World Cup, in which the big responsibility of getting the team off to a good start will be on the shoulders of captain Rohit Sharma and young batsman Shubman Gill. Both these players would like to make a big partnership together so that their team can put up a big score against the opposition teams. Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma have been in good form ahead of the Asia Cup and now Shubman Gill has revealed the reason behind his successful partnership with Rohit.

While talking to the ICC, Shubman Gill revealed the secret that he loves to open with the Hitman. Gill also explained the reason for this. Gill said, 'Rohit likes to hit aerial shots in the powerplay while I find the gap and hit fours. He likes to hit sixes, which is why I think this pair has been successful because of their different styles.

He further said, 'Rohit gives me the freedom to show my natural game and it is great to open the innings with him. Especially when it is known that the entire focus will be on them. He allows other batsmen to play freely. Please tell that 23-year-old Shubman Gill has played 18 Tests, 27 ODIs and 11 T20 matches for the Indian team so far. This player has proved himself by scoring a ton of runs in the IPL, in such a situation, as much as Indian fans will expect from Captain Rohit and Virat Kohli in the Asia Cup and World Cup, the same will be from Shubman Gill.

If we talk about Asia Cup then this tournament is going to start from 30th August. India's first match in this tournament will be against Pakistan in Sri Lanka on 2 September. Significantly, the Indian team is present in Group A along with Nepal and Pakistan. Whereas Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are present in Group B.
