Plan to eliminate sirens
Nitin Gadkari said that now the Union Ministry of Road Transport and State Roads has planned to eliminate loud sirens. We have a plan to install the sound of Indian musical instruments in the vehicles, which people would like to hear better. Gadkari said that he was lucky that he had got the opportunity to remove red beacons from VIP vehicles. Now they are planning to remove sirens from VIP vehicles.

Red beacon was banned in 2017.
On May 1, 2017, the central government had banned the installation of red beacons on the vehicles of all ministers and officers including the PM. The government had decided that blue beacons would be used only on emergency services vehicles like ambulances and fire brigades. The move was seen as a major step towards ending the VIP culture in the country.
