Students will do yoga daily, they will get benefit, along with stress, weight will also reduce: Study

Recently a study has been published, it was done on 2 thousand students. In which it was found that if the students do yoga daily, then along with reducing their stress, their weight is also decreasing.

Just 17 weeks of yoga practice has worked wonders on 2,000 school-going teenagers between the ages of 13 and 15. Due to which adolescents have reduced stress, improved attention, reduced weight and other metabolic parameters. This is possible only with 40 minutes of physical exercise every day. A new study conducted by the Madras Diabetes Research Foundation has revealed. Which was financed by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Students from 24 public and private schools in Delhi and Chennai were included for this study. Yoga included breathing exercises, stretching poses, pranayama and meditation.

Know the benefits of yoga

For this study, sessions were conducted by trained trainers once per week in the school premises. Five awareness lectures on healthy lifestyle and nutrition were given to the group once a month. Dr. Ranjani Harish, the lead author of this study, says that "We developed an adolescent depression scale (ADOSS), which tested larval cortisol, metabolic and clinical parameters and letter cancellation test (LCT).

In which we found that there was a five percent reduction in the stress level. However, our main focus was on stress and mental ability, which is important for students of that age, as they prepare for competitive exams. We are happy to see improvement in activity markers to a reasonable extent. Body weight, body fat, waist circumference, BMI, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and salivary cortisol were found to decrease in the short term in the yoga students, but not in the non-yoga students.

18 percent increase in attention and concentration with yoga

Dr. Ranjani Harish says that the LCT score, which measures attention and concentration, increased by 18 percent in those who were doing yoga and decreased by 7 percent in those who were not doing yoga.
