You must have heard stories of more than one rich man. In India itself, there are many rich people from Ambani to Adani who have their own private jets. You would have never heard such an anecdote before someone has his own private train. It is not really possible, but it has happened once. The thing is not even very old. It was just a matter of 6 years ago, when a farmer from Punjab became the owner of the entire train and did such a thing, which even Ambani-Adani could not do.

This mistake of railway was responsible

Actually this matter is related to the land acquisition of the Railways. Railway had made a mistake in this matter, which cost it dearly and the farmer had taken possession of the Swarna Shatabdi Express. It is funny that in this case of 2017, the farmer of Punjab had taken possession of the entire train with the order of the court.

Connection with land acquisition

This is the story of farmer Sampurna Singh, a resident of Katana village of Ludhiana, Punjab. In 2007, the Railways took the land of the farmers for the Ludhiana-Chandigarh rail line. Sampoorn Singh was also one of the farmers whose lands were lost in it. As is the case in such cases, compensation is given by the Railways in lieu of the acquired land, which happened in this case also.

Sampooran Singh reached the court on this basis

However, there was a mistake on the part of the Railways. Sampoorn Singh got compensation at the rate of Rs 25 lakh per acre, but some farmers at the rate of Rs 71 lakh. Sampooran Singh reached the court in 2012 regarding this. The court ruled in favor of Sampoorna Singh and ordered the Railways to pay Rs 1.47 crore. Railways were asked to make this payment by 2015.

The court heard this order

Railways paid only Rs 42 lakh to Sampooran Singh in due time. On this, Sampooran Singh again filed an application in the court. While hearing the application, the sessions judge asked Sampooran Singh to take possession of the Delhi-Amritsar Swarna Shatabdi Express running between Delhi and Amritsar.

The owner of the train for a while

Kisan Sampooran Singh then reached Ludhiana station after taking the order of the court and as per the order, he took possession of the Delhi-Amritsar Swarna Shatabdi Express. Although the matter was resolved within 5 minutes, but for a while, farmer Sampooran Singh became the owner of the Delhi-Amritsar Swarna Shatabdi Express.
