The
maritime portion of the Malabar exercise carried out complex engagements in the air, surface and undersea areas. Weapon firing and cross deck helicopter operations were also carried out. The navies of the four countries increased coordination among each other. The Malabar exercise also best demonstrated the shared commitment of the four navies to work together. All countries showed commitment to peace and security in the Indo-Pacific region.

China considers it a threat
Malabar exercise was done for the first time in the year 1992 by India and America. After this, the navies of Japan in 2015 and Australia in 2020 also started participating in this exercise. China sees the partnership of India, America, Australia and Japan in the Malabar exercise as a threat to itself. China alleges that this exercise is done by targeting it. Recently there were reports that China has deployed hundreds of its lower orbit satellites to monitor the Malabar exercise.
