The Ministry of Education has invited school teachers as distinguished 'special guests' to attend the 77th Independence Day celebrations 2023 at the historic Red Fort. A select group of 50 school teachers were invited by the Department of School Education and Literacy Who has done excellent work in the field of education. All the teachers participating in the program are from Central Board of Secondary Education and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan schools across the country.

The ministry informed that this year a large number of guests have been invited as compared to last year. Around 1,800 people have been invited along with their spouses as special guests. This initiative has been taken in line with the public participation approach of the government.

These special guests will include more than 400 Sarpanchs of more than 660 Vibrant Villages, 250 farmers associated with the Farmer Producer Organization Scheme, 50 workers associated with the Central Vista Project including the new Parliament House. Apart from this, people associated with Khadi workers, construction of border roads, Amrit Sarovar and Har Ghar Jal Yojana, as well as primary school teachers, nurses and fishermen will also be involved.

Selfie points have also been made at various 12 places in Delhi for the Independence Day celebrations. These include National War Memorial, India Gate, Vijay Chowk, New Delhi Railway Station, Pragati Maidan, Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid Metro Station, Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, Delhi Gate Metro Station, ITO Metro Gate, Naubat Khana and Sheesh Ganj Gurudwara. All the selfie points created will display various schemes and initiatives of the central government.
