Gajendra Chauhan has been a famous personality of the TV world. His career spans about 30 years. He got nationwide recognition after playing the role of Yudhishthira in BR Chopra's famous TV serial Mahabharata. His performance was highly appreciated by the audience and people started considering him perfect for the role of Yudhishthira. The entire cast of the show is still respected in India. Recently the show was released once again during the lockdown.

Gajendra Chauhan studied at Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi. During his studies, he used to work in AIIMS. He always wanted to become an actor and decided to quit his job. In 1982, he moved to Mumbai to pursue his passion for acting. His first role as an actor was in Rajshree Production's Paying Guest. Then he got the first salary of Rs 201 for his job.

Gajendra Chauhan got recognition after a lot of struggle

Talking about his struggle, Gajendra Chauhan had once revealed in an interview that the amount he was paid was very less. He said that he used to walk 8 kilometers on the sets of his serial to save 25 paise every day.

He further said that it was Mahabharata that got him popularity in the TV world and then people started recognizing him. After the success of Mahabharata, he also worked in many films and popular shows.
