According to media reports, such a huge decline in the price of tomatoes has been recorded in Karnataka. In the Mysore APMC here, the rate of tomato has come down to Rs 14 per kg. This has given a lot of relief to the general public. People from the surrounding areas of the city are reaching Mysore APMC to buy tomatoes. The special thing is that on last Saturday, tomatoes were sold here for Rs 20 per kg. At the same time, the effect of the fall in the price of tomatoes is visible in other cities besides Mysore. Now the price of one kg tomato has come down to Rs 30-35 in the retail market of Bengaluru. That is, you can buy one kg of tomatoes for Rs.30 in Bangalore.

Farmers are not even able to recover the cost

MR Kumaraswamy, secretary of Mysore APMC, says that the prices have come down due to the increase in the arrival of tomatoes in the mandis. He said that 40 quintals of tomatoes come regularly in the APMC daily. At the same time, after the sudden fall in prices, Immavu Raghu, general secretary of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, has urged the government to stop the falling prices of tomatoes and other vegetables.

43 kg tomato in Delhi

Howver, now the price of tomato has come down in the states of North India as well. With the start of import of tomatoes from Nepal at a cheaper rate, prices have come down from Rs 10 to Rs 5 per kg. The special thing is that this fall in prices has been recorded in the wholesale market. Due to this, tomatoes have become cheaper in the retail market. According to the Departments of Consumer Affairs, the average rate of tomato in Delhi has now come down to Rs 34 per kg. While a week ago the price of one kg tomato was Rs 68.
