Inflation has been at its peak for the last 2 months, due to which it has made even the general public sweat. The prices of tomatoes had also increased from 400 to 500 rupees per kg till 2 months back. But now the government has made full proof to control the inflation of tomatoes. The government will sell tomatoes at Rs 40 per kg in the country from tomorrow i.e. 20 August. This gift of the government on Raksha Bandhan has been liked by the public, while the government also hopes that this decision will curb inflation. But it took one month for the government to travel from 400 to 40. To reach this point, the government had to work from importing tomatoes from Nepal to setting up cheap counters.
After which tomatoes will be sold at Rs.40 per kg from tomorrow. Tell me, a month ago the prices of these tomatoes were up to Rs 400 per kg. Let's tell how the government has controlled the inflation of tomatoes.
Travel started from Rs 90
With the onset of monsoon in June, tomato prices suddenly started going up in flames. Tomato, which was available at Rs 30 to 40 per kg, suddenly became Rs 150 per kg. At the same time, by the time of July, its price reached beyond 300 to 400 and 500 rupees per kg. This made the general public upset. In such a situation, the central government decided to sell tomatoes by itself. For the first time, on July 14, he sold tomatoes at the rate of Rs 90 per kg in Delhi-NCR. Then the prices of tomatoes were 400 rupees per kg. At that time, for the first time, the government has worked to control the inflation of tomatoes.
The government had started selling tomatoes at Rs 90 per kg through NCCF and NAFED. Exactly a day later, the government announced again that now tomatoes will be sold at Rs.80 per kg at 500 places. After this, from August 15, the government announced to sell tomatoes at Rs 50 per kg and started selling cheap tomatoes in many places including Delhi NCR.
Tomatoes will be available at Rs 40 per kg from tomorrow
The central government has given instructions to sell tomatoes at Rs 40 per kg from Sunday, 20 August 2023. The Department of Consumer has asked NCCF and Nafed to sell tomatoes at Rs 40 per kg. After improvement in the supply of tomatoes, fall in prices in the wholesale and retail market, the Ministry of Food Consumer Affairs has asked NCCF and Nafed to sell tomatoes at Rs 40 per kg.
So much tomato came from Nepal
In fact, the National Cooperative Consumers Federation of India (NCCF) has entered into an agreement with the neighboring country Nepal to reduce the price of tomatoes in the country and to provide tomatoes to the common people at a cheaper rate. Under this, 10 tonnes of tomatoes are going to be imported from Nepal. 2 days ago i.e. on Wednesday, it was told that the import of tomatoes from Nepal has started. The effect of which is that now the prices of tomatoes are decreasing day by day.
