Chandrayaan 3 News: ISRO has achieved many achievements from the previous Moon mission for the successful landing of Chandrayaan 3. Indian Space Agency has sent the third moon mission by correcting the mistakes of Chandrayaan 2. Let us see how these two missions are different, and what changes ISRO has made.
Chandrayaan 3 LIVE updates: Chandrayaan 3 of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has reached very close to the lunar surface. Now just waiting for August 23 because the country's third moon will make a soft landing on the moon on this day. Even before this, India had sent Chandrayaan 2 to the moon, but it could not land successfully. Taking lessons from the previous mission, ISRO has made a lot of improvements in Chandrayaan 3. Let us see what the Indian Space Agency did to improve Chandrayaan 3.
ISRO's Chandrayaan 2 mission failed in its lunar phase. Its lander 'Vikram' crashed while attempting a soft landing on September 7, 2019. This happened due to a fault in the braking system in the lander. However, to make Chandrayaan 3 a successful mission, ISRO has not repeated the past mistakes. Now let us see how Chandrayaan 3 is different from Chandrayaan 2.
That's why chandrayaan 3 is better
1. The architecture of Chandrayaan 3 and Chandrayaan 2 is similar. The biggest difference between the two is that Chandrayaan 2 includes Vikram Lander, Pragyan Rover and Orbiter. On the other hand, Chandrayaan 3 consists only of Lander and Rover.
2. Chandrayaan 3 will connect to the orbiter of Chandrayaan 2 present on the moon. Chandrayaan 3 will do terrain mapping and interaction with it only. Please tell that Chandrayaan 3 has been connected to the orbiter of Chandrayaan 2, and the conversation has started between the two.
3. Chandrayaan 3 is equipped with a special camera to land on the moon. At the same time, Chandrayaan 2 had only one camera, while Chandrayaan 3 has two such cameras.
4. This time the legs of Vikram Lander have been made even stronger. Apart from this, the speed of landing has been increased from 2 meters per second to 3 meters per second. This means that there will be no crash even at a speed of 3 meters per second during landing.
5. New sensors have been added to Chandrayaan 3, and more fuel has been sent to Vikram Lander. Chandrayaan 2 was sent with the capability to identify an area of 500 m x 500 m for landing. This time Chandrayaan 3 mission can identify 4 km x 2.5 km area.
6. No matter how Chandrayaan 3 lands, separate solar panels have been installed to give it energy. ISRO has tested its landing through helicopter and crane.
7. Chandrayaan 2 was sent to the moon with 9 testing systems, which are still present there. Whereas, Chandrayaan 3 has only one instrument called Spectro-Polarimetry of Habitable Planetary Earth (SHAPE). Through these, there will be research and experiments on the moon.
Chandrayaan 3 challenge
In the soft landing of Chandrayaan 3, the biggest challenge is to hold the speed of the lander. In the last phase of landing, landing the lander from a height of 30 km will be a very important moment. ISRO will remove Chandrayaan 3 from horizontal direction and bring it in straight direction, in which there is a lot of risk.
That's why ISRO has prepared Chandrayaan 3 this time with 'Failure Based Design'. On the other hand, Chandrayaan 2 was developed on 'Success Based Design'. The space agency has already done testing to deal with every possible attempt to fail Chandrayaan 3.
