Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot launched the Indira Gandhi Smart Phone Scheme on Thursday. Under this scheme, smart phones will be given free of cost to the women of the state. However, CM Gehlot had announced this scheme only last year. But it was launched yesterday. In such a situation, the opposition parties are calling this scheme as vote bank politics. However, the Gehlat government says that this scheme will empower women.

What is Indira Gandhi Smart Phone Scheme

Indira Gandhi Smart Phone Yojana is a scheme launched by the Government of Rajasthan, through which women of the Chiranjeevi family will be given free smart phones. Under this scheme, smart phones will be distributed free of cost to a total of 1.3 crore women. Along with this, they will also get free data and calling facility for three years. The special thing is that every month women will get 5 GB internet data for free.

Who will get benefit

In the first phase only 40 lakh women will be given smart phones for free. For this Chiranjeevi families will be selected. The special thing is that smart phones will be distributed by setting up camps to make this scheme accessible to the masses. In the first phase, 10th and 12th class girl students of Chiranjeevi families have been included. Apart from this, smartphones will be given to widow women in the first phase.

What is the rule of planning

At the same time, girl students studying in government ITI and polytechnic colleges have also been included in this scheme. Even if you are studying in Sanskrit college, you will get the benefit of this scheme. Along with this, women heads of families working up to 100 in MNREGA are also entitled to get smart phones under this scheme. Similarly, smart phones will be distributed to women heads of households who work for 50 days under the Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Scheme.

To take advantage of this scheme, women have to register first. For this, camps are being organized by the government in every block. Before coming to Shivi, eligible women must bring half card, pen card and mobile phone with them. At the same time, the girl students studying in the college will have to come to the camp with the ID card.
