Every month has its own special significance in Hinduism. At present the month of Sawan is going on and this month is considered very auspicious for the worship of Lord Shiva. This year, due to excess month, the month of Sawan was for two months, in which fasts were observed on 8 Mondays. Such a coincidence happened after 19 years. August 28 is the last Monday of Sawan, after which the month of Sawan will end on 31st.
Just after the end of Sawan, the month of Bhadrapada will start which is considered very auspicious like Sawan. This month is considered auspicious for worshiping Lord Krishna because Shri Krishna was born in this month. In such a situation, Krishna Janmashtami is also celebrated in this month.
When till when Bhadrapada month
According to the Hindu calendar, the month of Bhadrapada is called the sixth month. It starts almost after Sawan. This year Bhadrapada will run from 1 September to 29 September. Bhadrapada is also known as Bhado, Bhadra or Bhadrav. This month is considered important from a religious point of view. According to the English calendar, Bhadrapada falls in the months of August and September. Bhadrapada month is considered special for worship and fasting. It has been said in religious scriptures that bathing in holy rivers, donating to the poor and fasting in the month of Bhadrapada is very beneficial. Worshiping Lord Krishna this whole month fulfills all the wishes of a person.
Many big festivals in Bhadrapada month
This month is considered so auspicious because along with Sri Krishna Janmashtami, important festivals like Radha Janmotsav, Kajari Teej, Shri Ganesh Chaturthi, Anant Chaturdashi, Kush's Amavasya, Vishwakarma Puja also take place in this month. Establishing Laddu Gopal at home, setting conch and reciting Shrimad Bhagwat Gita in Bhadrapada brings wealth, fame and glory. Along with this, chanting Santan Gopal Mantra on Shri Krishna Janmashtami in Bhadrapada and reciting or listening to Harivansh Puran gives happiness of children.
Important rules related to Bhadrapada month
Every day in the month of Bhadrapada, one should get up before sunrise and do the puja and must light a lamp in the evening as well.
During this neither should bring anything wrong in mind for anyone nor should speak bad words or lies.
Auspicious works like construction of new house, house warming and marriage are not done in Bhadrapada month.
It is believed that during this time a person should not consume jaggery, curd and things made from it.
