Yashasvi Jaiswal-Shubman Gill hit stormy fifty, India beat West Indies by 9 wickets to equalize the series

 


India defeated West Indies by 9 wickets in the fourth T20 International match with the help of half-centuries from openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill. With this the series was tied at 2-2. In this match, Shimron Hetmyer also played a half-century for the West Indies. On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav and Arshdeep bowled well for India. In this match, West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first. 

Batting first, West Indies scored 178 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Shimron Hetmyer scored the most runs for the West Indies team. Facing 39 balls, he played a half-century inning of 61 runs with the help of 3 fours and 4 sixes. Apart from him, Shai Hope played an inning of 45 runs in 29 balls with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes. Fast bowler Arshdeep Singh took maximum 3 wickets from India. Whereas Kuldeep Yadav got 2 wickets. Akshar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal and Mukesh Kumar got one wicket each. 

Chasing the target, the Indian team won the match by losing one wicket in 17 overs and scoring 179 runs. The maximum runs from the team came off the bat of opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. He played an unbeaten half-century of 84 runs in 51 balls with the help of 11 fours and 3 sixes. Jaiswal had scored a half-century in 33 balls. This is the first half-century of his T20 International career. 

At the same time, Gill played a half-century innings of 77 runs in 47 balls with the help of 3 fours and 5 sixes. Gill had scored a half-century in 30 balls. He and Jaiswal shared a match-winning partnership of 165 (94) runs for the first wicket. With this, both of them equaled the partnership of 165 runs added by KL Rahul and Rohit for the first wicket against Sri Lanka. Romario Shepherd got the only wicket from West Indies.
