1st ODI: Mitchell-Conway hit centuries, New Zealand beat England by 8 wickets

 

New Zealand defeated England by 8 wickets in the first match of the 4-match ODI series with the help of centuries from Devon Conway and Daryl Mitchell. In this match, Jos Buttler, David Malan, Liam Livingstone and Ben Stokes played half-century innings for England but it went in vain. In this match, Kiwi captain Tom Latham won the toss and decided to bowl first. 

England batted first and scored 291 runs losing 6 wickets in 50 overs. Captain Jos Buttler scored the most runs for England. He played a half-century inning of 72 runs with the help of 5 fours and 2 sixes in 68 balls. Whereas David Malan played a half-century inning of 54 runs with the help of 9 fours in 53 balls. 

Whereas Liam Livingstone and Ben Stokes played half-centuries of 52(40), 52(69) runs respectively. Stokes scored a half-century in his first match after his retirement from ODI. Buttler and Stokes made a partnership of 88 (104) runs. After this Butler and Livingstone added 77 (59) runs. Rachin Ravindra took maximum 3 wickets from the Kiwi team. Tim Southee was successful in taking 2 wickets. One wicket went to the account of Lockie Ferguson. 

Chasing the target, the New Zealand team won the match by losing 2 wickets in 45.4 overs and scoring 297 runs. Daryl Mitchell scored the most runs for the Kiwi team. He scored an unbeaten century of 118 runs in 91 balls with the help of 7 fours and 7 sixes. Whereas Devon Conway remained unbeaten after scoring 113 runs in 121 balls with the help of 13 fours and one six. Both of them made a match-winning partnership of 180* (152) runs. For England, David Willey and Adil Rashid got one wicket each.
