2nd T20I: Captain Marsh and Short hit stormy half-centuries, Australia beat South Africa by 8 wickets

 


Australia defeated South Africa by 8 wickets in the second match of the three-match T20 International series with the help of half-centuries from captain Mitchell Marsh and Matthew Short. With this, he captured the series 2-0. Australian bowlers also bowled well in this match. In the second T20 International match, Australia won the toss and decided to bowl. 

Batting first, South Africa posted 164 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Most runs for the team came from the bat of captain Aiden Markram. He faced 38 balls and played an inning of 49 runs with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes. Opener Temba Bavuma scored 35 runs in 17 balls with the help of 6 fours and one six. For Australia, Sean Abbott and Nathan Ellis added the maximum 3-3 wickets to their account. Jason Behrendorff was successful in taking 2 wickets. 

Chasing the target, Australia won the match by losing 2 wickets and scoring 168 runs in 14.5 overs. Captain Mitchell Marsh scored the most runs for the team. He played an unbeaten half-century of 79 runs with the help of 8 fours and 6 sixes in 39 balls. Whereas Matthew Short played a half-century inning of 66 runs in 30 balls with the help of 7 fours and 4 sixes. Marsh and Short played a century partnership of 100 (45). Lizaad Williams and Tabraiz Shamsi got one wicket each for South Africa.
