4th ODI: Malan and Moeen shine in England's victory, defeating New Zealand by 100 runs and winning the series 3-1

 


In the last match of the 4-match ODI series, England defeated New Zealand by 100 runs with the help of David Malan's century and Moeen Ali's 4 wickets. With this victory they won the series 3-1. The all-round performance of Rachin Ravindra went in vain for the Kiwi team. In the match played at Lord's, London, England won the toss and chose to bat. 

England, batting first, scored 311 after losing 9 wickets in 50 overs. David Malan scored the most runs for the team. He scored a century of 127 runs in 114 balls with the help of 14 fours and 3 sixes. Apart from him, Jos Buttler played an inning of 36 runs in 31 balls with the help of 3 fours and one six. Joe Root contributed 29(40) and Liam Livingstone contributed 28(38). Rachin Ravindra took the maximum 4 wickets for New Zealand. Daryl Mitchell and Matt Henry managed to take 2-2 wickets. One wicket went to the account of Kyle Jamieson. 

Chasing the target, the Kiwi team could score only 211 runs after losing 9 wickets in 38.2 overs. Tim Southee did not come to bat on behalf of the team because he was injured. Rachin Ravindra scored the most runs for New Zealand. He scored a half-century of 61 runs in 48 balls with the help of 3 fours and 4 sixes.

Apart from him, Henry Nicholls faced 48 balls and played an inning of 41 runs with the help of 2 fours and a six. Spin all-rounder Moeen Ali took maximum 4 wickets for England. Apart from them, Sam Curran, David Willey, Braydon Carse and Liam Livingstone got one wicket each.
