Ashwin Dani bought a supercomputer CDC 6600 in the year 1970 to expand the business of Asian Paints. Of course it was imported from abroad, and at that time he had invested Rs 8 crore to buy it. However, with the help of this supercomputer, he got a lot of help in expanding the business of Asian Paints.

The country's big institutions ISRO and IIT also got supercomputers many years later. It took several more years for the country to build its first indigenous supercomputer and it was ready in 1987.

This supercomputer helped Asian Paints create the best ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) ever seen in the world. Because of this, the revenue of Asian Paints kept growing by 20 percent every year for 60 years.

In fact, with the help of this supercomputer, Asian Paints was helped in understanding the color preferences of the customers and which color of paint is in demand in the market. This supercomputer was able to predict which color of paint is more preferred in which area of ​​the country. In such a situation, the company used to plan in advance and fill the stock of paint of that color in that area.

This supercomputer helped Asian Paints in strengthening its distribution network. Today it has more than 70,000 dealers across the country.
