In the IPL 2023 match, Rinku Singh led Kolkata Knight Riders to victory by hitting 5 consecutive sixes in the last over bowled by Yash Dayal in the match against Gujarat Titans. He did something similar for Meerut Mavericks in the UP T20 league 2023 match played on Thursday (31 August).

Playing for Meerut in the match against Kashi Rudras, he won the team by hitting three consecutive sixes in the super over. With Meerut needing 17 runs to win in the Super Over, left-arm spinner Shiva Singh hit a hat-trick of sixes. 

Rinku could not score any runs on the first ball, but in the next three balls he won the match for Meerut. On the second ball, Rinku hit a six over long-off, followed by another six over deep mid-wicket and then towards the long-off region. 

Earlier, both the teams had scored 181 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, after which the match went into super over. However, Rinku, batting first, was able to score only 15 runs in 22 balls. But the team expressed confidence in him and sent him to bat in the super over, which proved to be the right decision. 

Significantly, Rinku had recently made his debut in T20 International cricket for India. Apart from this, he is also a part of the Indian team in the Asian Games to be held later this month.
