After ABVP in student union, now RSS supported NDTF shines in DUTA elections, wins the post of president

RSS-backed National Democratic Teachers Front (NDTF) candidate AK Bhagirath won the post of President of Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA). AK Bhagi captured the post of president by defeating Democratic United Teachers Alliance (DUTA) candidate Aditya Narayan Mishra.

The results of the election for the post of President of Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) were released on Thursday. AK Bhagi won the post of president. AK Bhagi was the candidate of RSS-backed National Democratic Teachers Front (NDTF), in the election he defeated Democratic United Teachers Alliance (DUTA) candidate Aditya Narayan Mishra and captured the post of DUTA President.

In the election, DUTA candidate AK Bhagi got 4,182 votes, while his opponent Aditya Narayan Mishra got 3,787 votes. Bhagi defeated Aditya by 395 votes. Out of 9,500 voters, 8,187 voters took part in the elections and exercised their franchise.

Alliance of 9 organizations got defeated

The Democratic United Teachers Alliance included about 9 teacher organizations of different ideologies, who together formed the Democratic United Teachers Alliance. Despite this the alliance had to face defeat in the elections. This alliance of 9 organizations was competing against the RSS-backed National Democratic Teachers Front, in which NDTF registered victory and retained its hold on the seat. The other winners in the election are also from NDTF.

Professor of Chemistry is AK Bhagi

AK Bhagi, who won the election for the post of president, is a professor of chemistry in Dayal Sinrah College. Who faced competition from Dr. Aditya Narayan Mishra, a teacher of Aurobindo College. Aditya, associated with the Aam Aadmi Party, had the support of other opposition parties including Congress. Whereas AK candidates are considered close to BJP. There were only two candidates in the electoral fray for the post of President. In which AK Bhagirath defeated Aditya Mishra and hoisted the flag of victory. It is noteworthy that in 2021, the National Democratic Teachers Front had contested the DUTA elections and had also won. Earlier, the Democratic Teachers Front was in power by winning the elections for five consecutive times.
