After being dropped from the World Cup team, Yuzi Chahal took a big step, came abroad to play for this team

Veteran leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal's name is missing from the Indian team that has been announced for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. Many fans and cricket experts are surprised to see Chahal not in the World Cup squad. At the same time, Chahal has also taken a big decision after being ignored from the World Cup team. Chahal has signed up with Kent County Cricket Club to play the remaining three matches of the ongoing County Championship.

Chahal's absence in the ODI World Cup to be played on Indian soil from October 5 to November 19 can be a heavy blow to the Indian team and many cricket experts including Harbhajan Singh believe this. Well, now Chahal is not a part of this team and it will be interesting to see how the Indian spinners perform without him. At the same time, Kent County Club has confirmed that Chahal will be available for selection in the remaining two home Championship matches against Nottinghamshire and Lancashire as well as the match against Somerset.

Kent are currently ninth in the ten-team County Championship Division One table. They are in danger of being relegated to Division 2 next season. After signing a contract with Kent CCC, Chahal expressed his excitement to play for the English county cricket club. The 33-year-old Chahal has never played first-class cricket consistently, having played only two matches in the Ranji Trophy for Haryana last season and taking three wickets at an average of 92.33. He has taken 87 wickets in 33 first-class matches so far.

"Playing in English county cricket is an exciting challenge for me and I am very much looking forward to it," Chahal said in a statement after signing with Kent. At the same time, Kent's director of cricket, Paul Downton, believes that Chahal will bring a lot of experience of playing at the international level and will make an important contribution to the club.

"We are delighted to have secured a spinner of Yuzvendra's quality for the last three Championship matches of the season, with Matt Parkinson not available for us until next year and Hami Qadri having recently been injured," Downton was quoted as saying by ESPN Cricinfo. He is really looking forward to playing in English conditions and will bring a significant amount of skill and international experience to our team.”
