The new rule regarding birth certificate is going to come into effect from October 1. This will increase the importance of the birth certificate even more. From October 1, birth certificate will be used as a single document. The central government had passed this bill in the monsoon session of Parliament. The Union Home Ministry has issued its notification on Wednesday.
Once this rule is implemented, you will not need any other document. Your work will be done only with the birth certificate. Like making admission, driving license, passport and Aadhaar, you will be able to get many things done with the help of birth certificate. This will reduce the need for many documents. The birth certificate of the child will be linked to the Aadhar card of the parents.

Almost all government departments including hospitals will have this data, which they will be able to use when needed. The government will prepare a data base to manage the records of birth and death. This bill was approved by both the houses of the Parliament in the monsoon session. The Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Bill 2023 was passed in the Lok Sabha on August 1 and in the Rajya Sabha on August 7.
