Questions raised on Rohit Sharma's captaincy
Former Australian captain Greg Blewett, while talking on Willowtalk podcast, said, 'I am worried about the captain of Team India. I can see things going wrong for India in the upcoming World Cup and I don't think Rohit can help India win the title this year. Team India always goes to these World Cups and they don't win it and I'm not sure Rohit can do it for them. The only reason for Rohit Sharma being in the playing 11 of Team India is his captaincy.
Regarding Kohli, Blewett said, 'I think Virat has progressed as a captain and I don't know that you can go back to him now. All I know and can see is that Rohit Sharma is holding on to the thread of captaincy, that is why he is playing the matches and I don't know if this is the right way to move forward.
Let us tell you that under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the Indian team reached the finals of T20 World 2021 and World Test Championship. However, Team India was not successful in winning both these titles. However, the captaincy of Rohit Sharma was retained and the team will enter the upcoming ODI World Cup under his captaincy.
