Bhadrapada month dedicated to Lord Vishnu has great importance in Hindu religion. Many big festivals of Hinduism fall in this month. Ekadashi and Pradosh fast falling during this period also have great importance. Every month, two Pradosh fasts are observed, one on Trayodashi tithi of Krishna Paksha and the other on Trayodashi tithi of Shukla Paksha. Pradosh Vrat, which falls on Trayodashi date of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month, is falling on 12th September this year. 12th September is Tuesday due to which this Pradosh Vrat is called Bhaum Pradosh Vrat.
The Trayodashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha will start on September 11 at 11:52 PM and end on September 12 at 2:21 AM. According to Udayatithi, Pradosh Vrat will be observed on 12th September. On the other hand, the auspicious time of worship is from 6.30 pm to 8.49 pm. Pradosh Vrat is dedicated to Mahadev, the God of Gods. Lord Shiva is the most easily pleased deity. In such a situation, by worshiping Lord Shiva with a true heart on the day of Pradosh Vrat, his blessings are showered on the devotees and they get freedom from all the troubles.
Importance of Bhaum Pradosh fast
The Pradosh fast observed in Bhadrapada has special significance. Bhadrapada month is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. In such a situation, by observing Pradosh Vrat in this month, along with Bholenath, the blessings of Lord Vishnu are received. At the same time, worshiping Hanuman ji along with Lord Shankar in Bhaum Pradosh Vrat is also considered very auspicious. Actually Hanuman ji is considered as Rudravatar of Lord Shiva. In such a situation, by worshiping Hanuman ji and Lord Shiva on the day of Bhaum Pradosh Vrat, one gets freedom from all troubles. This fast is very beneficial for people having Manglik Dosha in their horoscope. Apart from this, this fast is also very auspicious for the peace of Mars. By observing this fast one gets rid of diseases also.
Worship method
On the day of Bhaum Pradosh fast, wake up early in the morning and take bath and worship Hanuman ji according to the rules and regulations. After this, go to the temple and offer chola. Pradosh Vrat is worshiped in the evening, in this case take bath once again in the evening and worship Lord Shiva. Anoint Shivling with Ganga water and offer flowers. Along with Lord Shiva, worship Mother Parvati and Lord Ganesha as well.
