Cinema halls and movie theaters were closed after the global pandemic Covid 19. The years 2020 and 21 were disappointing for the entire cinema world including Bollywood. Many big films were to be released at the time of Corona, but due to the pandemic, the dates of all had to be postponed. Not only in India, there was a huge decline in the collections of films due to Corona all over the world. Most of the films were being released on OTT platform only. At the same time, in these 2-3 years, Bollywood films could not show anything special, due to which people were quite disappointed. However, in 2023, Bollywood has made a great recovery and started with a bang.
Shahrukh Khan welcomed 2023 by becoming 'Pathan' and broke all records. Pathan made a worldwide collection of Rs 1050.30 crore. After this, Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor's film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar joined the Rs 100 crore club. Sunny Deol's film Gadar 2 made the record of the highest grossing film in India and collected Rs 684.75 worldwide. Now Shahrukh Khan's Jawan is moving ahead at the fastest pace and has crossed the Rs 1000 crore mark worldwide.
Bollywood made a strong recovery
In September 2023 i.e. within 9 months, Bollywood has made a spectacular recovery and has broken all the earning records. The total earning figure of all the Bollywood films released till now has crossed Rs 9315 crore, which is much ahead of the year 2019.
These big films were released in 2019
Before Corona, in the year 2019, the total box office collection of Bollywood films was around Rs 4200 crore net. 2019 was very good for Bollywood. This year, Bollywood gave hit films like Uri, Bharat, Kabir Singh, Super-30, Mission Mangal, Chhichhore, Dream Girl, War, The Sky is Pink, Dabangg 3, Gur News, Manikrnika, Gulli Boy and Bala.
The effect of Corona was visible on 2022
After Corona, many Bollywood films were released in the year 2022, in which films like Kashmir Files, KGF Chapter 2, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Brahmastra had great earnings. This year the total collection of Bollywood films was around Rs 1950 crore.
The biggest explosion will happen in 2023
Judging by the pace at which Bollywood is progressing, it seems that Bollywood films are going to be the biggest hit in terms of earnings this year. Big films of Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor are going to come in the coming 3 months i.e. October, November and December. Fans are waiting for big films like Shahrukh Khan's Dinky, Ranbir Kapoor's Animal and Salman Khan's Tiger 3.
