The increasing tension between India and Canada is not showing signs of reducing, but is becoming more heated day by day. Both countries have also expelled each other's diplomats. Not only this, some trade deals which were to be done have also been put on hold for the time being. The deteriorating situation between the two countries has created a lot of tension. The trade between Canada and India in the year 2023 was worth 8 billion dollars i.e. 67 thousand crore rupees. In such a situation, if the tension continues to increase, there is a possibility of a loss of about Rs 67000 crore to the economy. After the economy war, now its effect can be seen on mangoes also. Due to the Canada-India dispute, the common man's kitchen budget is likely to get spoiled. At the same time, inflation in the country may increase instead of decreasing.

Actually, the most important thing in a common man's plate is pulses. In such a situation, the tension between India and Canada can affect pulses. India imports large quantities of lentils from Canada. Due to increasing political tension with Canada, there is a possibility that the import of pulses from there may be affected. Especially the import of lentils is being said to be most likely to be affected. Let us explain to you how this will increase the budget of your plate.

Kitchen budget may get spoiled

India imports lentils on a large scale from Canada. A total of 8.58 lakh tonnes of lentils were imported into the country during the year 2022-23. Out of which 4.85 lakh tonnes were imported from Canada alone. During the June quarter this year, about 3 lakh tonnes of lentils were imported into the country. In which more than 2 lakh tonnes of pulses have come from Canada only. In such a situation, if the tension continues for a long time then the prices of pulses may become expensive in India. Which can hurt the common man's pocket.

Prices of lentils may increase

If the India-Canada dispute continues for a long time, the supply of pulses may decrease. If the supply of lentils is affected, its prices will be affected. Prices of pulses may increase in the country. It is noteworthy that the government has taken several steps to control the inflation of pulses in the last few months. The conditions for import of pulses have been relaxed by the government. Apart from this, stock limit has also been imposed at the domestic level. However, despite all the efforts made by the government, the inflation of pulses is continuously increasing instead of decreasing. In such a situation, the Canada dispute may increase the inflation of pulses instead of reducing it.
