CAT writes letter to Union Minister to keep markets open during G-20

The country's largest business organization CAT has sent a letter to Union Minister Piyush Goyal and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar suggesting to organize a trade exhibition at Pragati Maidan during G20.

Keeping in mind the G20 conference going to be held in the country's capital Delhi, strong security arrangements and program can be conducted properly. Regarding this, the government has announced to keep the main markets of Delhi closed for three days. In such a situation, the business class, which was earlier excited about the fact that the government will bring foreign guests to visit the market, is now sad that far from welcoming foreign guests, even the shops will have to be closed. The country's largest business organization CAT has sent a letter to Union Minister Piyush Goyal and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar suggesting to organize a trade exhibition at Pragati Maidan during G20. Fully agreeing with the importance and need for strict safety protocols in Delhi during the G20 Summit, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) urges the Delhi Government to reconsider the decision of closing the markets in some parts of Delhi. CAT has said that this decision of closing the markets of the capital should definitely be considered so that no negative message is sent to the whole world. On the other hand, by sending a letter to Union Commerce Minister Goyal and Union External Affairs Minister Jaishankar, it has been suggested that a trade exhibition can be organized in one of the halls of Pragati Maidan, the venue of the G20 conference, in which specific major products of different states of the country will be displayed. This should be done so that the people coming from abroad can be made aware of the progress made by India in trade and economy under Made in India in the last 9 years and various types of Indian products.

This can also lead to a big increase in the export trade of the country and a big message of self-reliant India can be given to the whole world which will also encourage the big companies of the world to set up factories in India.

These things will be taken care of

Traders have demanded that all the markets of Delhi should be kept open and in order to ensure no laxity on all aspects of security, the government should urge the trading organizations of Delhi to ensure additional security in their markets across Delhi during the period of the convention. Make security arrangements, entry and exit routes into the markets should be limited and it is necessary that there should be strong arrangements for identification of those coming to the market and special care should be taken of cleanliness and beauty. On this, all the market associations of Delhi should fully cooperate with the police, other government security agencies and other bodies.

Traders can promote Made in India

It has been said in the letter that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the manufacturing of large types of goods under Made in India has started rapidly in the country in the last years and great successes have been achieved in this field. It should be shown to the foreign guests coming on the occasion of the conference so that India's international trade gets new dimensions and new opportunities are available in the country's export trade. In this regard, it has been said that like tea leaves of Assam, cloth and silk of Varanasi, carpets of Bhadoi, Sanganeri art products of Rajasthan, handicraft items, jute products of West Bengal, Maithili art products of Bihar, textiles of Gujarat, Handicrafts of Madhya Pradesh, fashion clothes of Maharashtra, items made of Khadi, tribal art products of Jharkhand, brass products of Uttar Pradesh, various types of statues and handicraft items of South India,
