Dr. Swati has been working closely with farmers but her notable contribution was to introduce a new variety of paddy, Shahbhagi, in Odisha. This variety became very popular. A laboratory was also established here in the name of Indian PM Narendra Modi in the year 2017. There is a gene bank of rice here and more than a hundred varieties have been brought from all over the world.

Its branch was also established in Varanasi in the year 2018, which is working in coordination with the entire South Asian countries. It was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi.
