In the last few months, many such cases have been seen where a person suddenly fainted while dancing or in the gym and died. Recently such a case had come up in Ghaziabad also. A young man walking on the treadmill in the gym suddenly fell unconscious and died. Earlier, many famous personalities had also died while going to the gym. Doctors are citing cardiac arrest as the reason for these sudden deaths. This is a little different from a heart attack, but it is many times more dangerous than a heart attack. In 90 percent of cases of cardiac arrest outside the hospital, the patient dies. Now this problem is happening even at a young age. In many cases, no symptoms are even visible and the person is dying.
What is cardiac arrest and how is it different from heart attack and what are its symptoms? We have talked to experts to know the answers to many such questions.
What is cardiac arrest?
Dr. Tarun Kumar, Professor in the Cardiology Department at RML Hospital, Delhi, says that cases of cardiac arrest have been increasing in the last few years. Due to cardiac arrest the heart suddenly stops working. Due to this, blood is not supplied to the body parts and oxygen is also not able to reach the brain. Due to which the person dies. The cases in which someone dies suddenly while dancing or dies in the gym are cases of cardiac arrest.
Dr. Tarun explains that after cardiac arrest, initially a person experiences sudden severe pain in the chest. Light sweating also occurs. These are symptoms of heart attack and within a few minutes it leads to cardiac arrest. In case of cardiac arrest, it becomes difficult to save the life of the patient. In case of cardiac arrest outside the hospital, only 3 out of 100 patients have a chance of survival. In this situation, the patient can be recovered by CPR, but most of the people are not aware about CPR.
Corona virus is a big reason
Dr. Ajit Jain in the Cardiology Department at Rajiv Gandhi Hospital says that Corona virus is a major reason for the increase in cases of cardiac arrest. Due to the virus, blood clots are forming in people's bodies. Due to clot formed in the veins of the heart, the heart is unable to pump blood properly and heart attack occurs due to blockage. This leads to cardiac arrest within a period of half an hour to 15 minutes.
No matter how fit a person looks from outside and takes care of his diet, he may still face the problem of cardiac arrest. In case of cardiac arrest, if treatment is not received within a few minutes, the person dies. This is why we see sudden severe chest pain and death within a few minutes.
Dr. Jain explains that in some cases these symptoms may appear before cardiac arrest.
becoming gas
sudden severe chest pain
feeling like something is stuck in the throat
Sudden changes in the body's ability to function, such as feeling short of breath while performing tasks
