Dengue fever: In dengue fever, platelets are decreasing on the second day itself, these symptoms are becoming fatal.

Dengue fever symptoms and treatment: Dengue outbreak is increasing in the country. Cases are increasing rapidly in many states. So far this year, more than 80 patients have died due to dengue. Cases of DNV-2 strain of dengue are also increasing. The level of platelets is falling rapidly in some patients.

Dengue fever in India: Many states of India are in the grip of dengue fever. From West Bengal to Delhi-NCR, cases of this fever are increasing every day. The situation seems out of control in West Bengal. So far, about 40 thousand cases of dengue have been reported in this state. In Delhi too, more than 3 thousand cases have been reported so far this year. Many patients need to be admitted to hospital. Patients are also dying due to dengue. So far this year, about 90 patients have died due to this fever in the entire country. It is a matter of concern that due to dengue, the platelet level in some patients is falling on the second day itself. In such a situation, the condition of the patients is worsening.

Doctors say that this time in dengue the platelet count is decreasing even in mild fever. In such a situation, people are advised to get tested for dengue immediately after having fever. By getting the test done on time, the platelet count will be known and treatment can be done on time.

Platelets falling even in mild fever

In some patients the level of platelets is falling even in mild fever. Doctors say that when the platelet count of patients is being checked after the dengue report is positive, it is found to be less than 3 lakhs.

Dr. Vijay Kumar at Delhi's Sanjay Gandhi Hospital says that some patients are getting tested for dengue several days after the onset of fever. During this period the platelets in their body decrease. When the test report comes, the platelet count is found to be low. This is happening due to fever that has persisted for several days.

Are low platelets a danger sign?

Dr. Neeraj Nischal, Additional Professor in the Department of Medicine at Delhi AIIMS, says that in dengue fever, the platelet count of patients starts decreasing, but there is nothing dangerous in it. Even if platelets are 40 thousand, the patient's life is not in danger. Because after some time the platelet count starts increasing again. But if internal bleeding occurs during this time, the patient's life may be in danger.

Dr. Neeraj explains that there is not much danger due to low platelet count in dengue, but if bleeding occurs in the brain or any other part of the body, then it is a sign of danger. In such a situation, people are advised to get dengue test done on time if they are having fever. If dengue is confirmed, do not treat yourself at all and consult a doctor. Do not let there be lack of water in the body during dengue. Take maximum liquid diet. With this, the down level of platelets can also be controlled again.
