Disney Star joins hands with PhonePe for ICC World Cup, deal worth Rs 150 crore

India is going to host the ICC Cricket World Cup this time. Disney Star has got its broadcast and webcast rights. Disney Star has made a deal of Rs 150 crore with PhonePe for this.

Only 10 days are left for the ICC Cricket World Cup to start. India is hosting this mega sports event this time. Disney Star had got the broadcast rights during IPL, but Jio Cinema was ahead in getting the webcast rights. This time Disney Star has got both the broadcast and digital rights of this international event. In such a situation, Disney Star has also made full preparations for earning, and has made a deal of Rs 150 crore with payment company PhonePe.

Disney runs Star Sports channels on Star TV and OTT platforms like Disney+Hotstar. That's why the Disney star is making sponsorship deals with different brands. One such deal will be done with PhonePe for Rs 150 crore.

PhonePe will get this benefit

A total of 48 matches are to be held during the ICC Cricket World Cup event. All matches will be of 50-50 overs. Thanks to the deal with Disney-Star, PhonePe will get presence on all TV channels of Star Sports Network and OTT platform Disney+Hotstar.

Disney also made a deal with them

Disney Star has not made a sponsorship deal only with PhonePe. In fact, brands like Hindustan Unilever, Mahindra & Mahindra and Coca-Cola are also associated with it. Thanks to this, all these companies will be able to show their advertisements to more and more people during the World Cup.

World Cup will be available to watch for free

During IPL, Jio Cinema had allowed people to watch the matches for free. This helped him to make rapid inroads among the people. This time Disney + Hotstar is also going to follow the same strategy. This time, World Cup matches can be watched on mobile and tablet without any subscription charge.
