India is hosting the MotoGP bike racing event this year. This is the first time that this Grand Prix of bike racing is being held in India. And, Greater Noida of Uttar Pradesh has become a witness to its event. But for the Uttar Pradesh government this is not just a sporting event. In fact, there is also a program that will put about Rs 1000 crore into the state's kitty. Along with this, it will also benefit the common people.
This three-day global sports event at Buddha International Circuit will generate many types of employment in the state. It will also help in giving Uttar Pradesh a new identity at the international level, which will be beneficial for the economy of the state in future also. Anyway, the government of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is trying to make Uttar Pradesh an international sports infrastructure hub.
This is how Uttar Pradesh will get Rs 1000 crores
State Additional Chief Secretary (Sports) Navneet Sehgal had recently said that this sports event will increase economic activities in the state. From transport to hospitality sector, it will get support. At the same time, ticket sales, food and beverages sales, travel and merchandising sales will increase the business and revenue of the state. New jobs will also be created for the people.
He said that this will take the soft power of the state to the world. Not only this, it will also have a long term impact on different sectors of the state. These include real estate, hotels, tourism, media, entertainment and racing circuits. Yogi government is developing many types of stadiums, playgrounds and other facilities in Uttar Pradesh, which will help in making the state an international sports centre.
The event will reach 195 countries of the world
MotoGP bike racing event will be shown live in 195 countries of the world. This will create the identity of Uttar Pradesh in these countries. This event is expected to reach around 45 crore viewers, and around 1 lakh people are expected to watch this event live at the Buddha International Circuit itself. All these people will be partners in taking the economy of UP forward in some way or the other.
The common man will benefit from this
The history of MotoGP events goes back to 1949. This is one of the oldest motor sports in the world. Another thing added to its history is that wherever this event is organised, along with economic changes, many social changes have also been seen. Local common people benefit from this.
MotoGP also runs a social initiative 'Road to MotoGP'. Its objective is to promote sustainable technology in the 2-wheeler segment. Apart from this, it emphasizes on road safety and making road infrastructure safe in the long term. India is one of the largest 2-wheeler markets in the world.
