Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy has described the G20 Summit as the most successful international summit of the 21st century. He said that ever since India assumed the presidency of G20 in December 2022, Prime Minister Modi had decided that India's presidency will be held in the spirit of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumb Kam'. The Union Minister said that in the Delhi Summit, the world has expressed confidence in India's leadership to promote global unity and cooperation. The inclusion of the African Union as a new permanent member of the G20 is a big thing. This success has been achieved due to India's initiative.
The Union Minister also said that in the next few years, the successor hosts of the G20 summit – Brazil and South Africa – will follow the path of the Delhi summit to take forward the agenda of the G20 (now G21). During the last one year, more than 25,000 representatives from more than 115 countries around the world participated in the G20. About 225 meetings were held in 60 cities throughout the year.
