The festive season continues. After Janmashtami, now the wait is for Ganesh Chaturthi which is celebrated with great pomp as Ganesh Janmotsav. Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the major festivals of Hindu religion. Although this 10-day long festival is celebrated across the country, its special significance is seen in Maharashtra. Big pandals are set up here in which one tall idol of Ganpati Bappa is installed. People come from far and wide to have darshan of Ganapati. Lord Ganesha is worshiped as per rituals for 10 days and Bappa is immersed on the 11th day.
Lord Ganesha was born on the Chaturthi date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. This year this date is falling on 19th September. In such a situation, Ganesh Utsav is starting from this day itself which will be celebrated for 10 days and Bappa will be immersed on 28th September. The day of Ganesh Chaturthi is considered the best day to please Lord Ganesha. Bappa's blessings can be obtained by worshiping with a true heart and following the rituals. In such a situation, it is important to know the correct method of worship to worship Bappa, but before that, know the auspicious time of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Ganesh Chaturthi Muhurat
According to the Panchang, Chaturthi Tithi is starting from 12.39 pm on 18th September and will end the next day i.e. 19th September at 8.43 pm. According to Udayatithi, Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on 19th September. The auspicious time of Ganesh Puja will be of 2 hours 27 minutes which will be from 11:01 am in the morning to 01:28 pm.
Ganesh Chaturthi puja method
On the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, wake up early in the morning, take bath, wear clean clothes and clean the temple properly.
After this, install a wooden post in the north-east corner and spread a red or yellow cloth on it.
Bring the idol of Ganapati home at the right time and place it on the pedestal.
After this, worship Lord Ganesha as per the rituals for 10 days. During this time, offer Modak, Sindoor and Durva to them.
On the 11th day, bid farewell to Bappa by immersing the idol as per rituals and with reverence.
