For the worship of Hal Shashthi, a square is made from flour. After this, strawberry, palash sprig and brass branch are tied in it and buried. After this, Goddess Shashthi is worshiped and gram, wheat, barley, paddy, pigeon pea, moong, maize and Mahua are used in her worship. What is Vrat Katha?

Once a cowherd was pregnant. Her delivery time was also very near. But fearing that the milk and curd might get spoiled, she went out to sell them. On the way, she started having labor pains, after which she gave birth to a child under the cover of a strawberry tree. After some time, she left the child there and went out to sell milk and curd. That day was Hal Shashthi. In such a situation, the villagers were fasting. The milkmaid sold the mixed milk of cow and buffalo to the villagers as only buffalo milk, due to which the villagers broke their fast.

After this, his child lying under the strawberry got hit by the farmer's plow, which ripped his stomach. The farmer stitched the torn stomach with strawberry thorns and went away. Gwalin returned after selling milk and when she saw her son in that condition, she remembered her lie. He immediately went back and told the truth to all the villagers and apologized. On this all the villagers forgave him. After this, Gwalin returned to her child and saw that her child was playing.
