Tamim Iqbal is not completely fit due to which he has not been selected in the World Cup squad. Tamim was keen to play the World Cup, but due to his poor fitness, he had put a condition before the Bangladesh Cricket Board that he would be able to play only 5 matches in the World Cup, after which the management thought it better not to include him in the team. This matter seemed to end here, but now captain Shakib Al Hasan has given a big statement by calling Tamim a selfish player.
In fact, while talking to T Storts before the World Cup, Shakib made a sharp statement on Tamim. He said, 'Tamim was selfish and was not thinking about the team. A player like Rohit Sharma who made his career from number 7 to opener. If he ever bats at No. 4, will it be a big problem?
Shakib further said, 'This is completely childish. This is my bat, I will play only. No one else can play. A player must bat at any position for the team. For that the team should come first. It doesn't matter whether you score 100 or 200 runs, if your team loses. What can you do with personal achievement? Do you want to make a name for yourself?'
Bangladesh World Cup squad: Shakib Al Hasan (captain), Liton Das, Tanjeed Hasan Tamim, Nazmul Hossain Shanto (vice-captain), Tauheed Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mehdi Hasan Miraj, Nasum Ahmed, Mahedi Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur.
