While talking to a well-known YouTube channel, Shoaib Akhtar recalled the third Test match played between India and Pakistan in the year 2006. He said, 'I am telling this for the first time. I deliberately wanted to hit Sachin in that Test. I had decided that I have to injure Sachin at any cost.
He further said, 'Inzamam was telling me to throw the ball in front of the wicket, but I wanted to hit Sachin. I hit a ball on his helmet and I thought he was gone, he was dead. But when I saw the video I came to know that he had saved his head. Even after this I wanted to hurt him.
Meanwhile, Shoaib also praised Mohammad Asif. He said that Mohammad Asif is bowling brilliantly. I have rarely seen anyone bowling so well, the way Asif bowled that day.
Let us tell you that recently, while remembering the third Test of that series, Asif had also claimed that due to Shoaib Akhtar's fast bouncer during the Test, even Sachin Tendulkar was seen closing his eyes while batting, which he Was seen fielding from square leg side. It is worth noting that even though Shoaib Akhtar may have possessed great pace and troubled great batsmen around the world, such a statement like deliberately hitting a batsman on the head would hardly be liked by any cricket fan.
