'India loses because of its own media', Shoaib Akhtar's big statement before the match against Pakistan

Before the Asia Cup match between India and Pakistan, cricketers of both the countries have started their statements. Meanwhile, former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has spoken openly about the increasing pressure on Team India. Akhtar believes that because of the Indian media, more pressure increases on the Indian team and this pressure also becomes the reason for defeat.

Team India will start its Asia Cup campaign with a match against Pakistan. This big match will be played on 2nd September at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Kandy. Pakistan has won its first match by playing against Nepal whereas for India this will be the first match of the tournament, hence Rohit Sharma's team would like to start with a win.

Before this big match, Shoaib Akhtar spoke on RevSportz and slammed the Indian media and said, “Most of the times India does not lose because they lack talent, they lose because of the pressure they get from their own media. I always tell the Indian media to give some respect to the team and give them some slack. Why there is a need to create so much pressure, I understand it because we are insiders but ultimately it is wrong to do so.”

Speaking further, he said, “Last year I was in Dubai, I was doing a show for Indian local channels, they painted everything blue, they bought the stadium. Along with this, he was also talking about one thing – 'Team India will crush Pakistan'. Who puts so much pressure? When you make us weak, we (Pakistan) have nothing to lose because there is no pressure. So what we will do is we will go out there and win.

There is a lot of truth in Akhtar's statement because cricket is considered a religion in India and every child watches every match of the Indian team very closely, but it is the media that shows the India-Pakistan match as a war. In such a situation, the same message goes to the players that the whole country wants them to lose to anyone but not Pakistan.
