According to the Gratuity Act 1972, if a person works for a company or employer for 5 continuous years, he becomes entitled to gratuity. That means after completion of 5 years he can take gratuity from the company. But for this he will have to provide valid reason to the company. The special thing is that this rule applies to all types of government and private employees.

Money can be paid

If the Gratuity Payment Rules 1972 are followed, then gratuity will not be paid as per the need of the employee. For this he will have to provide valid reason. If the employee suffers from a disease which is fatal and its treatment will cost a lot of money. So in such a situation the employee becomes entitled to gratuity. Gratuity money can be paid to him after applying.

Gratuity money will not be received

Also, if the employee becomes disabled due to an accident, then in such a situation also he can withdraw the gratuity money. This means that you can withdraw gratuity money even for the treatment of a fatal disease. But for this, 5 years of working in the company should be completed. Otherwise, you will not get gratuity money even in case of illness before 5 years.
